Made in Germany, the Leica X1 is equipped with a CMOS sensor in APS-C format, similar to those used in semi-professional DSLR cameras. Together with an all-purpose Leica Elmarit 1:2.8/24 mm lens, the particularly large sensor for this class of camera offers outstanding picture quality that need not fear comparisons with professional cameras.

The Leica X1, in its classical black finish, is a 12.2-megapixel digital compact camera with a Leica Elmarit lens, 1:2.8/24 ASPH. Targeted at modern, spontaneous, mobile and lifestyle-oriented customers, the X1 offers DSLR quality in a compact camera. The package includes a leather carrying strap, battery LEICA BP-DC8, battery charger, battery protector, USB cable, lens cap, instruction manual, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

The X1's 12.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor ensures low noise levels, high dynamic range, and accurate color differentiation, as each individual pixel has a large sensor area and receives more light.
